A Historical Dinner - October 30th 2021

Saturday, October 30th, H.O.P.E. Alliance and Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives will host a "Historical Evening Dinner" featuring the Great, Great grandson of Frederick Douglass, Kevin Douglass Green.
Mr. Green will be introduced by State Senator Art Haywood.
The event will also honor 94 year old Germantown, PA resident, Sgt. Benjamin Melvin Berry, who is one of five current survivors of WWII's Battle of the Bulge.
Philadelphia Tuskeegee Airmen will also be represented.
In addition to dinner and a meet and greet, the evening includes entertainment by world renowned vocalist and composer, Ruth Naomi Floyd and the Frederick Douglass Jazz Works as well as acclaimed jazz extraordinaire, Alfie Pollitt! A portion of proceeds go to purchase and distribute "Special Edition" copies of "Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave", signed by Mr. Green. These copies will be presented to selected youth and organizations at the dinner. The event will also raise funds to support H.O.P.E. Alliance member organizations.

A Historical Evening will be held at the Springfield Township Recreational Center, 1200 E. Willow Grove Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038. There will be a "VIP Meet & Greet" from 3:00pm - 5:00pm (dinner included)
followed by "A Historical Evening Dinner" from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
